A lawyer turned food writer, Emily brings passion, a sharp intellect and attention to detail her global Jewish cuisine. As a writer, recipe developer and cooking instructor, Emily respects tradition but is willing to bend and even break the rules in search of the best flavor. She is the author of two cookbooks — 2017’s The Joys of Jewish Preserving (Harvard Common Press) and Food Swap: Specialty Recipes for Bartering, Sharing & Giving (Storey 2016) — and is a contributor to Midwest Living, Plate and The Nosher. Emily lives outside of Chicago with her husband and two children.
